<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Overview</strong></p><p><br />Report to the Engineering Lead, the Mechanical Designer is responsible for performing, reviewing, and/or overseeing<br />the design and detail engineering of mechanical equipment and packaged systems related to industrial heating and<br />filtration equipment. Candidate with process design experiences is an asset. Background with electrical and control<br />system is an asset but not required.</p><p><br /><strong>Primary Duties</strong></p><p><br />• Review technical specifications, prepare and manage design packages - vendor document list, design<br />drawings, design reports, engineering and welding procedures, and other technical documentations;<br />• Review and interpret project specifications, engineering codes, and standards to ensure compliance during all<br />phases of the design and manufacturing process.<br />• Prepare material lists (BOM), specification sheets, and detail manufacturing drawings.<br />• Prepare and/or review pressure vessel design reports and other required calculations;<br />• Provide engineering and technical support to various stakeholders in a timely manner;<br />• Work closely with production, welding, and quality assurance teams to ensure that designs are accurately<br />implemented and meet quality and safety standards.<br />• Participate in design review meetings and provide feedback between production and engineering for<br />manufacturability of design;<br />• Follow all Thermon's quality procedures;<br />• Maintain computer data files and document records.</p><p><br /><strong>Education and Qualifications</strong></p><p><br />• Post-secondary degree in mechanical engineering. Other discipline but with related work experience will be<br />considered;<br />• Licensed professional engineer in Ontario or eligible and working towards one;<br />• 0-10 years of relevant industrial experiences;<br />• Proficient with design tools and software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or PDMS.<br />• Strong understanding in general engineering / manufacturing practices and standards, such as ISO, ASME;<br />• Knowledge of materials properties, welding techniques, and fabrication processes for pressure vessel<br />manufacturing is preferred;<br />• Working knowledge and experience with ASME BPVC, particularly Section VIII Div.1 is preferred;<br />• Working knowledge with Autodesk Vault is an asset;<br />• Working knowledge with COMPRESS and MathCAD is an asset.</p><p></p><p><strong>Skills</strong></p><p><br />• Able to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.<br />• Strong written, communication skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.<br />• Familiarity with Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.<br />• Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.<br />• Excellent attention to detail.</p></p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
