<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Overview</strong></p><p><br />Report directly to the Engineering Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing and managing the design and<br />detail engineering activities of industrial electrical equipment and products, including development of electrical<br />drawings, sizing of electrical components, preparation of bill of materials, and technical supports for other<br />departments. Working knowledge with CSA and UL standard, hazardous location classification and requirement is<br />required. PLC programming knowledge and/or experience is preferred. This position requires full-time onsite<br />presence every day for close interaction with the fabrication and engineering teams at our manufacturing facility.</p><p><br /><strong>Primary Duties</strong></p><p><br />Team Leadership & Employee Management</p><p><br />• Provide technical leadership and guidance on the design, specification, and implementation of electrical systems<br />and control panels.<br />• Provide status update to the Engineering Manager and Project Management Team.<br />• Collaborate and work closely with colleagues in North America, Europe and Asia to review and finalize electrical<br />schematics, layouts, single-line diagrams, and control system designs.<br /><span >Engineering/Technical</span> Responsibilities<br />• Prepare, review, and approve drawings, bills of materials, and other engineering documentations.<br />• Review and interpret project specifications, engineering codes, and standards to ensure compliance during all<br />phases of the design and manufacturing process.<br />• Issue technical documents and drawing packages for the manufacture of products.<br />• Provide engineering and technical support to Internal (Sales, Production, Purchasing, and Quality departments)<br />and external clients.<br />• Participate in client meetings, kick-off meetings, design review meetings, operation meetings<br />• Ensure that all electrical control panels meet regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and internal<br />quality standards.<br />• Respond to any inquiries in a time sensitive manner to ensure the maintenance of delivery deadlines.<br />• Follow all company procedures.<br />• Participate in the commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, both remotely and on-site<br />when required.<br />• Maintain computer data, files, and document records.</p><p></p><p>Safety</p><p><br />• Ensure a safe workplace, including compliance with established safety laws, regulations, codes, policies, and<br />procedures.</p><p></p><p>Education and Qualifications</p><p><br />• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.<br />• Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SEE Electrical and/or SOLIDWORKS<br />Electrical.<br />• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.<br />Thermon Canada Inc. Electrical Engineer 2<br />• Minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial working experience with a focus on power systems, control systems<br />and automation.<br />• Working knowledge with PLC programming is preferred.<br />• Familiar with the following codes and standards is preferred:<br />o Canadian Electrical Code, CSA 22.1, CSA 22.2 No.14, 25, 30<br />o NFPA 70, 496<br />o UL 508, 508A, 698, 698A<br />o Applicable IEC standards for both unclassified area and hazardous area (IEC 60079-0 & 60079-1)<br />o ATEX, Low Voltage, EMC directives</p><p></p><p>Skills</p><p><br />• Able to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.<br />• Strong written, communication skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.<br />• Familiarity with Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.<br />• Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong electrical design background and attention to detail.<br />• Knowledge of ERP systems used in manufacturing is preferred.</p><p><br />Benefits</p><p><br />• Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.<br />• Professional development opportunities.<br />• Flexible work environment.<br />• Comprehensive health and dental benefits.</p></p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
