We recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset in achieving that goal.</p><h3>About The Role</h3><p>As a <b>Senior Mechanical Engineer</b>, you will perform both classical hand calculations and analysis (including FEA) using ANSYS to qualify systems and components against applicable codes and standards. You will report to the Manager, Mechatronic Systems and Analysis and be located at our Peterborough location with a hybrid work arrangement of 2 to 3 days per week on site.</p><h3>Main Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Provide input and help develop conceptual/detailed equipment designs as they progress through a structured design process</li><li>Perform both classical hand calculations and analysis (including FEA) to qualify systems or components against applicable codes and standards</li><li>Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports</li><li>Prepare concise design reports and technical specifications</li><li>Perform Engineering Quality evaluation of materials and components following the CSA N299 programme</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical Engineering or equivalent</li><li>Hold a Professional Engineering licence through the Professional Engineers Ontario</li><li>5 to 10 years of relevant experience from nuclear or aerospace industry working within software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor and ANSYS(FEA)</li><li>Apply the relevant codes and standards applicable to the design of nuclear components and systems, specialized tooling and remote handling equipment</li><li>Pressure retaining systems to CSA and ASME design codes</li><li>Work with customer representatives and provide oversight of vendors</li><li>Radiological shielding design and equipment</li></ul><h3>Why Westinghouse?</h3><p>Westinghouse is a firm believer in fostering a workplace powered by inclusive leadership, teams and culture.
