In business since 1947, Canadian Helicopters is Canada's largest helicopter operator with over 20 locations across the country and a fleet of nearly 100 single and multi-engine aircrafts.<strong> </strong></p>Job Description<br><br><p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p><p>The <strong>Safety and Quality Assurance Inspector</strong> is responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with applicable Civil Aviation Regulations (CARs), company-approved maintenance procedures, and client contractual requirements. This role supports continuous improvement through systematic internal audits, inspections, and proactive risk identification, contributing to a robust Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Assurance (QA) framework.</p><p>This position may require periodic travel to operational sites to conduct audits or represent the Safety & Quality Assurance Department during external inspections and regulatory audits.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Conduct comprehensive internal audits and evaluations of maintenance, operational, and safety systems, in alignment with Transport Canada CARs Subpart 573, 706, and associated standards.</li><li>Responsible to the Safety and Quality Assurance Manager.</li><li>Ensure compliance with the company’s Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM), Maintenance Control Manual (MCM), Quality Assurance Program, and SMS framework.</li><li>Document audit findings, generate technical reports, and ensure timely follow-up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).</li><li>Liaise with base managers, technical personnel, and regulatory authorities to promote safety and quality best practices.</li><li>Support investigation and root cause analysis of safety and quality issues, non-conformities, and internal occurrences.</li><li>Actively contribute to the development and continuous enhancement of QA and SMS processes, procedures, and training programs.</li><li>Maintain a high standard of impartiality, confidentiality, and technical integrity during all QA/SMS activities.</li></ul>Qualifications<br><br><p>Candidates <strong>must meet</strong> at least <strong>one</strong> of the following regulatory-based requirements:</p><p><strong>a)</strong> Hold, or have held, a valid <strong>Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License</strong>, or a <strong>foreign equivalent</strong>, for a period of <strong>not less than two (2) years</strong>;<br /><strong>or</strong><br /><strong>b)</strong> Hold, or have held, the <strong>Canadian military equivalent</strong> (Level A or Level C) to a TC AME License for a period of <strong>not less than two (2) years</strong>;<br /><strong>or</strong><br /><strong>c)</strong> Have, for a period of <strong>not less than two (2) years</strong>, been employed in a <strong>maintenance or quality assurance role</strong> with a <strong>Transport Canada-approved AMO</strong>, aircraft manufacturer, air operator, flight training unit, or <strong>military/foreign equivalent</strong>.</p><p><strong>Additional Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum of <strong>5 years of experience</strong> in the civil or military aviation industry.</li><li>Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance, Aerospace Engineering Technology, or related field (minimum: community college level or equivalent).</li><li>Proficiency in written and verbal technical communication (internal and external reporting).</li><li>Demonstrated integrity, impartiality, and objectivity in safety/QA functions.</li><li>Proficient in MS Office applications and adaptable to digital QA systems.</li><li>Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills.</li><li>Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in the field or remote settings.</li><li>Familiarity with SMS principles, QA methodologies, and root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, HFACS) is considered a significant asset.</li><li>Knowledge of Human Factors, Continuing Airworthiness, and ICAO Annex 19 principles is an advantage.</li></ul><br><br>Additional Information<br><br><p><strong>Additional information</strong></p><p>Working for Canadian Helicopters means:</p><ul><li>A unique opportunity to grow professionally in a dynamic environment full of opportunities;</li><li>Work with passionate, committed people who like to surpass themselves;</li><li>Be part of an organizational culture based on fundamental principles;</li><li>Having an employer of choice offering competitive working conditions.</li></ul><p>We offer a flexible benefits program including comprehensive medical and dental coverage, life insurance, short and long term disability insurance and a pension fund plan.</p><p><strong>Canadian Helicopters Limited is committed to employment equity and diversity and encourages applications from women, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities and visible minorities.</strong></p><p>For more information, we invite you to visit our website: <span >www.canadianhelicopters.com</span></p><p>Follow us on LinkedIn: <span >https://ca.linkedin.com/company/canadian</span>-helicopters-limited</p><p> </p></p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
