We’re united by a shared commitment to excellent and equitable health care.</p><h3>Position Overview</h3><p>Under the general direction of the Manager of Respiratory Therapy and Perfusion, and clinically on a daily basis the Operating Surgeon and Anaesthetist, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values, and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Staff Perfusionist, is responsible for setting up, operating and dismantling heart-lung machine and related equipment; providing instruction for Perfusionist Students, and general orientation for other health care professionals in regard to the basics of Cardiac Surgery requiring the use of CPB and/or other relevant equipment; and performing other related duties as assigned.</p><h3>Experience</h3><ul><li>Previous perfusion experience an asset.</li></ul><h3>Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)</h3><ul><li>Graduate of an Accredited Cardiovascular Perfusion Program.</li></ul><h3>Certification/Licensure/Registration</h3><ul><li>Certified by the Canadian Society of Clinical Perfusion or Certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications And Skills</h3><ul><li>Ability to interact well with health care professionals at all levels.</li><li>Good interpersonal communication skills.</li><li>Adapts readily to various types of clinical situations.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to deal with technical problems that may arise.</li><li>Mature, professional manner.</li></ul><h3>Physical Requirements</h3><p>Not Applicable</p><p>St. Boniface Hospital is committed to empowering a workforce that welcomes and celebrates diversity by fostering culturally safe places for all employees.
