<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p>As a member of our Patient Watch team, you will be responsible for monitoring patients who require additional observation to ensure their safety and well-being. This role is crucial in preventing falls, self-harm, or any other incidents. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to respond effectively to various situations.</p><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Monitor and observe patients on a continuous basis, ensuring their safety and comfort.</li><li>Report any changes in patient behavior or condition to the healthcare team promptly.</li><li>Assist with patient mobility and positioning as needed.</li><li>Communicate effectively with patients to provide reassurance and support.</li><li>Document observations and activities accurately and promptly.</li><li>Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.</li><li>Respond quickly and appropriately to any emergency situations or patient needs.</li><li>Respond promptly to security incidents, including medical emergencies, disturbances, and safety hazards.</li><li>Interact with patients, visitors, and staff in a calm and respectful manner, resolving conflicts and addressing concerns to maintain a peaceful environment.</li><li>Utilize effective de-escalation techniques to manage volatile situations and prevent escalation to violence.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Valid BC Security Guard License</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse individuals in a healthcare setting</li><li>Previous experience in security, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment</li><li>Excellent observational and problem-solving skills with the ability to remain composed under pressure</li><li>Basic computer skills for report writing and incident documentation</li><li>Ability to complete detailed reports, multi-task, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays</li><li>Must undergo a criminal background check</li><li>Post-secondary education in Police Foundations, Community Justice Services, or Law Enforcement is an asset</li><li>Alignment with Securiguard's core values - Respect, Empathy, Accountability, Courtesy & Honesty.</li></ul><p>If you are ready to make a difference in healthcare security and contribute to a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, we encourage you to apply today and join our team at Securiguard!</p><p><strong>About Us</strong></p><p>Securiguard Services Limited has been at the forefront of the asset protection arena for almost fifty years by being a leading-edge innovative security and safety solution provider.
