As a leader in mens health and minor surgical procedures for over 30 years, we are proud to bring our expertise and patient-centered care to Victoria, offering greater access and convenience to Island residents.</p><p>We are currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with minor surgical experience to join our new Victoria team.</p><p><br /></p><p>Position Details:</p><ul><li>Role: Surgical LPN</li><li>Location: Victoria, BC</li><li>Shifts: Casual 1 to 2 shifts/week ( Friday and/or Saturday)</li><li>Hours: 8-hour shifts</li><li>Rate: $45.00 per hour</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Prepare patients for surgery and assist physicians during procedures, such as vasectomy and circumcision</li><li>Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient education on proper care procedures</li><li>Maintain clean and organized surgical rooms, ensuring all equipment is sterile and ready for use.</li><li>Take patient vitals, administer medications as directed by physicians, and deliver nursing care as required</li><li>Ensure accurate and thorough documentation using the EMR system, including chart notes, patient records, medication updates, and physician correspondence</li><li>Receive and register patients, verifying demographics and medical information for accuracy</li><li>Perform data entry, process paperwork, review bloodwork, and follow up on relevant medical information</li><li>Respond to patient inquiries, retrieve files, and assist with various clerical duties as needed</li><li>Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring they feel comfortable, supported, and well-informed throughout their surgical experience</li><li>Sterilize medical devices between patients, adhering to the clinic's sterilization protocols</li><li>Counsel patients confidentially on procedures and risks, and provide advanced knowledge for post-care</li><li>Communicate effectively within the surgical team to foster a cohesive work environment</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by management</li></ul><p></p><p>Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Graduated from a recognized practical nursing program or possess an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.</li><li>Hold current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)</li><li>CPR certification preferred, not required</li><li>2+ years of nursing experience; private practice experience is an asset</li></ul><p></p><p>Skills and Abilities:</p><ul><li>Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Organizational skills with the ability to plan and implement patient care</li><li>Knowledge of the full scope of practice as required by the BCCNM, including medication administration</li><li>Proficiency in operating related medical equipment</li><li>Physical ability to perform duties associated with patient care and surgical assistance</li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide patient-centered care in a supportive environment</li><li>Strong teamwork skills and a commitment</li></ul></p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
