<p><strong>Position: Office Administrator / Bookkeeper</strong></p><p>Type: Full-Time (Onsite- Downtown Victoria)</p><p> </p><p>A boutique full-service law firm in Victoria is seeking an experienced office administrator and bookkeeper to oversee accounting, payroll, benefits administration, and general office operations. This is a central role that supports the day-to-day functioning of a well-established legal team. The position requires full-time in-office presence, especially during initial onboarding, to allow for smooth integration and collaboration within the team.</p><p><br></p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including trust and general account reconciliations and financial reporting</li><li>Administer in-house and third-party payroll, including vacation and sick leave tracking</li><li>Oversee compliance with Law Society of BC trust accounting rules, reporting requirements, and audit preparation</li><li>Manage group benefits and RRSP plans</li><li>Coordinate with external service providers (IT, telecom, BC Online, LTSA)</li><li>Maintain office systems including supplies, filing, and vendor relationships</li><li>Optional: Provide backup paralegal support depending on interest and skillset</li></ul><p><br></p><p>What We’re Looking For</p><ul><li>At least 8 years of experience in a legal or professional office environment (flexible for right candidate)</li><li>Solid background in accounting or bookkeeping</li><li>Familiarity with Law Society of BC trust accounting rules and compliance standards a must</li><li>Proficiency with QuickBooks (experience with Clio is a bonus)</li><li>Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Compensation</p><ul><li>Salary commensurate with experience</li><li>Group benefits and RRSP plan</li></ul><p><br></p><p>This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative and respected legal team in a role that combines financial stewardship with hands-on office operations.
