<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Project</strong></p><p>The Woodfibre LNG Project is situated approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It encompasses the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the former Woodfibre pulp mill site, featuring a storage capacity of 250,000 m³ and an annual production of approximately 2.1 million tons of LNG. </p><p><strong>Woodfibre Management Ltd. </strong>is a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver and a subsidiary of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited.</p><p><strong>Position</strong></p><p>The <strong>HSS Manager, Operations</strong>, is a pivotal leadership role within the Woodfibre LNG Operations team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of health, safety, and security performance during the Commissioning, Start-Up (CSU), and Operations phases of the plant. Reporting to the Vice-President of HSSE & Regulatory Compliance, this role is embedded in Operations and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards, fostering a culture of excellence in safety and stewardship.</p><p></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p>The Successful applicant will:</p><p></p><p><strong>Commissioning & Start-Up (CSU) Phase:</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and implement Health, Safety and Security strategies and programs tailored to CSU activities.</li><li>Set up all the procedures for CSU and Operations phase of the HSS Management System.</li><li>Collaborate with commissioning teams to identify and mitigate HSS risks.</li><li>Ensure all personnel receive appropriate HSSE training prior to CSU activities.</li><li>Establish emergency response procedures specific to CSU scenarios.</li><li>Monitor compliance with HSSE regulations and standards during CSU. </li><li>Support Operations and the Project in implementing a permit to work system for the CSU phase.</li></ul><p><strong>Operations Phase:</strong></p><ul><li>Lead the development and continuous improvement of the HSS Management System.</li><li>Oversee incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implementation of corrective actions.</li><li>Coordinate with regulatory agencies such as WorkSafe BC and BCER and stakeholders on HSS matters.</li><li>Promote a proactive safety & compliance culture through leadership, training, and engagement initiatives. </li><li>Manage the HSS budget and contracts for Operations, particularly related to PPE training.</li><li>Ensure emergency response training and exercises are well managed, continuously improving and to satisfaction of the regulators.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Required Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>Minimum of 10 years of HSS experience in the oil and gas, chemical or industrial sector, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
