Controls Design Manager

<p></p><p><strong>As the Controls Design Manager, your day-to-day will be: </strong></p><ul><li>Lead, mentor, and support a team of controls designers for electrical layout and schematics according to NFPA79, NEC, CSA, IEC/EN, and UL508A electrical standards </li><li>Plan and allocate resources to ensure successful project execution</li><li>Contribute to all stages of controls design — from concept through commissioning</li><li>Interpret technical requirements and align them with project specifications</li><li>Work closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to define scope, deliverables, timelines, and budgets</li><li>Ensure designs meet quality, compliance, and safety standards</li><li>Partner with manufacturing and fabrication teams to validate design integrity</li><li>Identify opportunities to streamline processes and drive continuous improvement</li><li>Provide technical support during installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities</li><li>Collaborate with the sales team by preparing technical input and cost estimates</li><li><strong><em>This position includes occasional international travel in support of project delivery.</em></strong></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><em>You will have: </em></strong></p><ul><li>Degree in Electrical Engineering, with <strong>10+ years’ experience</strong> in designing industrial control panels, low-voltage power distribution, and automation systems. A P.Eng. designation is an asset.</li><li>Proven experience in panel design for process equipment (Machinery)</li><li>Familiarity with electrical standards such as NFPA79, NEC, CSA, IEC/EN, and UL508A</li><li>Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team</li><li>Analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail</li><li>Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively</li></ul><p></p>
