<p>Chief Financial Officer <b>Employer:</b> RM of Riding Mountain West <b>Location:</b> Inglis, MB <b>Application Deadline:</b> TBD</p><h3>Job Description:</h3><p><strong>Job Opportunity: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)</strong></p><p><strong>Location:</strong> R.M. of Riding Mountain West, Inglis, Manitoba</p><p>The R.M. of Riding Mountain West is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to manage all financially related activities within our community. Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the CFO will play a crucial role in ensuring financial stability and transparency.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Supervisory Duties:</strong><ul><li>Supervise Finance Coordinator and Public Works Executive Assistant in financial duties.</li></ul></li><li>Arrange for Audit Tender.</li><li>Liaise with Auditors to establish timelines and processes.</li><li>Ensure completion of year-end accounting transactions.</li><li>Provide necessary information and answer auditor queries.</li><li>Present audited financial statements to council.</li><li>Submit audited financial statements to the Ministry and make them available to the public.</li><li>Perform monthly bank reconciliation (weekly in October).</li><li>Ensure subsidiary ledgers and activities are balanced.</li><li>Report monthly to Council on various funds.</li><li>Manage GST and PST returns.</li><li>Apply for and report on grants.</li><li>Handle LUD and SAVED financials.</li><li>Manage annual lease holder invoices and provincial reports.</li><li>Process debenture payments and local improvement projects.</li><li>Draft and report on the budget, calculate mill rates, advise on capital budget and services plans.</li><li>Manage the tax roll, apply penalties, and handle tax sale processes.</li><li>Conduct necessary studies (water rates, garbage collection, etc.).</li><li>Liaise with fire departments, LUD committee, and Broadband Committee on financial matters.</li><li><strong>Other Duties:</strong><ul><li>Attend council meetings as required.</li><li>Manage general insurance policy.</li><li>Arrange staff training.</li><li>Answer public and institutional financial inquiries.</li><li>Prepare draft bylaws and policies.</li><li>Assist in administrative matters.</li><li>Serve as Treasurer for the Inglis and Area Trust Fund and the SAVED Committee.</li></ul></li></ul><p><strong>Application Process:</strong> Interested candidates are invited to submit their resumes attention Glenda Lemcke to:</p><p>For a full job description and community profile, visit <em><strong>www.rmwest.ca </strong></em>.</p>#J-18808-Ljbffr
