<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>Salary: $50,000.00 per year<br /><p>GCS is looking for a Bookkeeper to join our team. This role supports the accounting functions of four companies so is a fast-paced and busy work environment. We are looking for someone who is a highly knowledge and experienced bookkeeper who is also able to support accounting functions when able.</p><p><br /></p><p>Responsibilities of this position include:</p><p><br /></p><p>Payroll:</p><ul><li>Prepare and manage payroll functions;</li><li>Strong understanding of Alberta labor standards;</li><li>Ability to increase efficiencies in the payroll process through software integration knowledge and automation;</li><li>Review and transfer of timesheet information to QuickBooks;</li><li>Prepare and send out pay stubs to all employees;</li><li>Prepare and submit payroll remittances;</li><li>Prepare annual T4s;</li><li>Payroll and benefits reporting;</li><li>Prepare and submit ROEs;</li><li>Field employee emails / phone calls regarding payroll;</li><li>Maintain personnel files;</li><li>File management for payroll and benefits;</li><li>Management of cost allocation as it relates to payroll and benefits.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Managing Accounts Payable & Receivable</p><ul><li>Accounts Payable: Processing supplier invoices, scheduling payments, and reconciling vendor statements.</li><li>Purchasing: Coordinating with vendors for supply orders.</li><li>Generating Purchase Orders (POs): Issuing, tracking, and matching POs with invoices and delivery records.</li><li>Accounts Receivable: Invoicing customers, recording payments, and managing collections.</li></ul><p>Bank & Credit Card Reconciliations</p><ul><li>Reconciling bank and credit card statements to internal records.</li><li>Investigating discrepancies and ensuring all transactions are captured correctly.</li></ul><p>Supporting month-end & year-end closing</p><ul><li>Reconciling all accounts (bank, AR, AP, credit cards, inventory).</li><li>Ensuring all revenue and expenses are properly recorded and classified.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Position requirements include:</p><ul><li>3 - 5 years of payroll and accounting experience;</li><li>Highly organized and great attention to detail;</li><li>Understanding of document control and management;</li><li>Familiarity with QuickBooks is an asset;</li><li>Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office programs is an asset;</li><li>Strong problem solving skills;</li><li>Strong time management skills for meeting deadlines;</li><li>Highly capable communicator - written and verbal with pleasant demeanor;</li><li>Ability to cooperate and work closely with various departments and change pace on a regular basis.</li></ul></p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
